Migliaia di donne egiziane sono scese in piazza ieri, martedì 20 dicembre, in una pacifica manifestazione contro le brutalità delle forze armate nei confronti delle donne durante le repressioni sui manifestanti. Spinte dall’immagine di tre soldati che strappano i vestiti ad una giovane manifestante e che la aggrediscono con violenza, un numero inaspettato di donne, circondate da una catena umana formata da uomini, si sono riunite a piazza Tahrir e hanno marciato per le strade della capitale egiziana.
Donne di ogni età, classe sociale e religione si sono radunate sul complesso amministrativo Mogamma in piazza Tahrir: donne con il velo, donne con il niqab, donne copto – cristiane, donne giovani e le loro madri più anziane che nonostante l’età, hanno sfidato la lunga marcia da Tahir al Sindacato della stampa.
